Planeta Océano engages local community members from villages along the coast of Tumbes, Peru, in efforts to promote conservation and restoration of sea turtles and other coastal and marine life. It is a both research-based and education-based organization, as it seeks to provide awareness to the public about the importance of conservation by providing hands-on learning programs for children and youth.
